Solidifying
a composition, introducing the right lighting, and
finding the perfect combination of colors is the goal
for which I am always passionately striving. It is
difficult to explain the
exhilaration when these elements come together. I
guess that explains my addiction to painting and the
process of painting.

As a
teen, and then again as a young adult, I took private
lessons in oil painting. Along with my budding career
in the software industry, I painted (off-and-on again)
as time allowed.

After many years in the software industry, I was
recently able to make a transition to working
full-time on developing my art career. My husband
(Larry) and I moved to our home on Whidbey
Island and we are now working full-time in the
art field.

It
has been an exciting change for us and we thoroughly
enjoy every day.

Biscuit
and
Gravy
You'll notice many of my paintings include one or both
of these bundles of love. It seems every move they
make is worth a painting. Though we lost Gravy to
cancer in 2006, we hold him ever-so-close to us
in our hearts and see him daily in paintings
throughout our home.

Studios
Thanks to the never-ending
work by my husband, Larry, I now have a working studio with plenty of room for
multiple easels, books, music, and tons of inspiration.
The studio/gallery
is located in our home on Whidbey Island, in the
beautiful state of Washington. With the wildlife so
abundant all around us, it is a wonder I get
any work done at all. I can assure you that my camera is never far from my
side. I'll keep you updated with some of my favorite
photos if you'll check in on the
photography page
every once in a while.
We are excited to invite you
to kick off your shoes, grab some appetizers, and enjoy your visit.

The photograph below is from the deck of my studio and
is a view of the Saratoga Passage, looking at Camano
Island. The Saratoga Passage is one of the
migratory paths for the Gray whales on their way to
and from Alaska. In addition to seeing the Gray
whales, we have also been lucky enough to spot an Orca
or two from our deck - what an amazing sight that is!
