Lights, camera, action!  Those are the thoughts that go through my head when setting the scene for a still life painting. These wonderful pieces of our lives get together to tell stories about us; where we've been, what we hold near-and-dear to our hearts, what we like, what we dislike, colors we adore, colors we abhor - is there such a color? (I think not.)

The beauty of a still life painting is that, even though the set up doesn't generally last long, the essence of the event is captured for others to enjoy for years to come.
