With the whisper

of a bird's wing

We can all unite

to make the lives of others

so much better.

I  believe in taking the best care of neighbors and animals that we can. And I appreciate, with all my heart, those who help me in my quest to improve the lives of those less fortunate.

From time-to-time I offer small originals and prints on eBay for charitible causes. When any are available, you should be able to see them below. Click on a box below to begin using it

or you can go directly to all my charity listings on eBay.

With the generosity of your bids and donations of my art, together, we have been able to raise well over $7000 for charities through eBay and eBay Giving Works. Thank you  for your generous hearts.

"We Dream in Colors"

My goal for this painting  was to show how each generation learns new ways to improve their lives. I attempted to show that by adding more color  to each generation as you move forward in the painting. So, you'll notice in the painting that the youngest generation has the most intense colors and (philosophically) the brightest future. Being an artist, I know how joyful color can be. I was inspired to name the painting after a song with a similar title.

I believe what these women have accomplished, especially given all they have endured, is remarkable and I greatly admire their strength and willingness to learn in the face of all they have to conquer (still). I enjoyed my time visiting with them (at the easel)  while attempting to put my respect for them on paper.

Rolling Dog Ranch is one of those places I just want to reach out and put my arms around! It was created from the hearts of Steve Smith and Alayne Marker and it is an incredibly loving,  permanent, home for many disabled animals who otherwise would have no place to go.   For more information about them, please visit: Rolling Dog Ranch's Website.
Dog Artists United is a group of wonderful artists who paint dogs in a variety of styles: Dog Artists United (blog).

Pasados Safe Haven is an amazing group of folks who work tirelessly to shelter all animals and fight daily to help prevent animal cruelty.  For more information about them, please visit: Pasado's Website
Sarvey Wildlife Care Center  in Arlington, Washington takes care of some pretty amazing animals. I have had the distinct pleasure to meet some of them in person (and their wonderful caretakers!) and I can personally recommend this animal-loving group of folks who work tirelessly to save our local wildlife.  For more information about them, please visit: Sarvey Wildlife Center
Whidbey Animal Improvement Foundation's annual Spring Fling auction ~ Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Washington. Byers does one commission a year  to benefit WAIF's auction. If you would like a proxy bid form, please contact Sandy directly. For more information about WAIF, please visit WAIF's website.
The Committee to keep Doves Protected is a group of Michigan voters who worked to restore Michigan's ban on shooting mourning doves. I am happy to say that on November 7th, 2006, the voters defended the 100-year old ban that protects the Mourning Doves from being hunted.

My heartfelt thanks to all those who helped in this battle - WE WON!
