Another scene from one
of my favorite places in the world ~ the Skagit Valley, in
Washington state. During tulip season I can be found
dashing from farm to farm trying to capture the perfect
feeling for a painting. When I spotted the row of orange
tulips in this field (above) I slammed on the breaks
and started clicking away! The icing on the cake was the
beautiful sky surrounding the scene.
This piece was done on Wallis Museum
paper which I textured before applying layers of pastels. From a distance it is difficult to tell what the
surface is but a closer look reveals the highly textured surface of
the paper.
