The sound of crashing
waves, the glow of sunlight through the wave's crest and
the myriad of colors has been enough to keep artists
inspired for thousands of years; myself included. I love
everything about the water, the sounds, the smell, the
motion and the colors. I have painted scenes from "my"
beach, on Whidbey Island, numerous times and each time I
try to convey the sense of awe I feel when I am close to
the water. This painting was inspired by a recent storm.
As is usual for me, I snapped up the camera and went
dashing off to the beach so I could get right in the
middle of the mix. The winds were so strong even the
seagulls seemed to be having a tough time making headway.
The Cascade Mountain Range can be seen nestled in the
background. |
